A Time of Giving Thanks

We’re still a tiny, developing studio, but people such as yourselves give us a voice, a community, and a lot of love. All of us are thankful for all of you. With respect to this holiday season, thank you for your continued support and enjoy this month’s newsletter!

Fortuna’s Purrfect Present

Fortuna’s Purrfect Present is a small game currently in development alongside Havoc Fox. This game features Fortuna, the lovely, chaotic panther companion of Grey!

Fortuna’s Purrfect Present is a 2D action platformer in a similar fashion to Havoc Fox, featuring Fortuna on her mission to buy the perfect gift for her friend during the “White Thursday” shopping chaos. Armed with claws and a variety of firearms, you will fight your way through the crowd of bargain shoppers to ensure the perfect present is still on sale.

Fortuna’s Purrfect Present also introduces a new villain! Meet Kerozene, the ambiguous, villainous beefly hypnotizing the crazed shoppers to give them all their business!

Fortuna’s Purrfect Present will feature one stage and a boss battle. The game will be free to download with the option to pay in donations, and is expected to release in mid-December. Keep an eye on the Havoc Studious Twitter page for download information upon release!

Current Development Update

Although most of this month’s development has gone to Fortuna’s Purrfect Present, there are a couple of noteworthy changes to Havoc Fox as well. Most of the game’s sprites and graphics have been updated and overhauled into a cleaner, more consistent style.

Old

New

In the introduction with Havico and Dyvex, the small study has been replaced with Havico’s large throne room to offer a better sense of scale and provide a more authentic castle atmosphere. Additionally, Dyvex and Havico’s sprites have been updated to reflect this newer style and maintain artistic consistency.

A multitude of other cutscene backdrops have been updated as well. All the scenes that were previously hand-drawn have been converted into pixels to keep them in line with the rest of the game.

These graphical updates have been implemented and will be present in future test builds. As always, but our feedback matters! We invite you to check out the public demo and submit your criticisms to our official Discord server.

Community Spotlight: Sayo

In each edition of the Havoc Studios monthly newsletter, we will highlight the works and/or relations of a member from the community or studio. We are grateful for everyone within the community and would like to recognize those of you who help bring life to the community. Our November community spotlight features Sayo and her Havoc Fox fan art!

Sayo became a member of the Havoc Studios community through the official Havoc Studios Discord server and has been treating everyone with a variety of Havoc Fox fan art. She cites the characters’ designs as the source of her artistic inspiration and doodles them in her own style. In terms of community, she is highly active on the public Discord server and helps instill a sense of family and belongingness. When asked for closing comments, she wished to thank the whole team and overall community for everything they’ve done for her.

Sayo may not have any social media outlets upon which to advertise and share her creations, but we invite you to join the Havoc Studios Discord server and give her some love!

That's all for now!

Another month has passed, and we’re happy to have filled it with hard work and excitement! If you haven't already, be sure to follow us on Twitter @havocfoxgame. Join the conversation and wreak havoc in the official Discord server: http://discord.gg/havoc-studios
